How prepared are you to respond when a young person is struggling with a mental health or emotional crisis?
VCCAP is pleased to offer Youth Mental Health First Aid, a practical, foundational training for those who want to strengthen their skills in recognizing distress, engaging youth, and connecting them with appropriate support.
While designed for those without formal mental health training, the skills are highly applicable across medicine and in situations where young people may need support - including clinical encounters, first response, disaster settings, and individual crises.

Participants must complete 2 hours of required online pre-work by October 1 before attending the in-person session. Registration closes October 1, and the course is limited to 30 participants. A minimum of 11 confirmed participants is required for the training to proceed.
This is an opportunity to add a practical set of skills that can help you respond with greater confidence when a young person is experiencing distress, wherever that encounter occurs.
