2026 PSV Fall Meeting | October 2 - 3, 2026

Meeting Information

Welcome to the 2026 Fall Meeting of the Psychiatric Society of Virginia! I am honored to welcome you to Richmond and to have you with us at the Delta Hotel.

This year's theme, Reimagining Care for Serious Mental Illness: From Crisis to Recovery, reflects one of the most pressing challenges facing our field. Recovery spans prevention, early intervention, acute treatment, rehabilitation, and long-term community support. For too many individuals with serious mental illness, that journey remains fragmented. This meeting is an opportunity to examine those gaps and consider how psychiatrists can lead, advocate, and provide compassionate care within the systems that shape recovery.

We are privileged to welcome two distinguished keynote speakers: Dr. Marketa Wills, CEO and Medical Director of the American Psychiatric Association, who will bring a national perspective on the future of our profession, and the Virginia Secretary of Health and Human Resources, Marvin Figueroa, who will offer insight into the Commonwealth's priorities for mental health care. We are also pleased to partner once again with the Virginia Council of Child and Adolescent Psychiatrists (VCCAP), whose collaboration enriches our program and reflects our shared commitment to psychiatric care across the lifespan.

In addition to outstanding educational sessions, we encourage you to take advantage of the opportunities to network with colleagues, visit our exhibitors, and reconnect with friends and peers who share your commitment to advancing psychiatric care. Thank you for your continued engagement with PSV, and I look forward to seeing you throughout the meeting.

Sincerely,

Shariff Tanious, MD, FAPA
PSV President
