The Psychiatric Society of Virginia's spring meeting for 2021 is entitled “Striving for Equality: Challenging Disparities for Better Mental Health." The presentations will inform the participants on the subjects of; Reflections on Race and Medicine in the Year of COVID-19 and Nationwide Protests, The Impact of COVID-19 on Virginia’s Behavioral Health System, A global perspective of Mental health disparities, Understanding the Impact of Culture, and Making Sure That we are Including that Content in our Evaluations and Treatment, and answering the question - Is Reducing Implicit and Explicit Bias Conducive to Increasing Health Equity?
These are all intended to inform those who practice medicine in order to improve decision-making and delivery of health care services to our patients.
