The Psychiatric Society of Virginia's spring meeting for 2019 is entitled "The Doctor is In: Psychiatry in Medicine." The presentations will inform the participants on the subjects of: legal and ethical issues surrounding the practice of medicine in the arena of mental healthcare, how psychiatrists can bring about change in their state medical society, dealing with mental health issues of cancer patients, the role of psychiatry in a primary care setting and integrating mental health in pediatrics. These are all intended to inform those who practice medicine in order to improve decision-making and delivery of health care services to our patients.
This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the accreditation requirements and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through the joint providership of the American Psychiatric Association (APA) and the Psychiatric Society of Virginia. The APA is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
